Building on Beyond Aid , Portland is working intensively on supporting the Palestinian private sector in developing a renewed, step-change economic strategy for the future, with a series of feasible initiatives at its core. The first phase of the project is identifying tangible opportunities for economic development and a renewed approach to employment creation and investment in the Palestinian economy. In collaboration with an international management consultancy, the evolving roadmap includes a blended finance vehicle to identify, accelerate, aggregate and finance projects to further Palestinian economic growth, bringing several partners together. The platform will identify investment opportunities across multiple sectors of the economy, connecting these opportunities with a diverse range of investors to bridge funding gaps. A delivery unit for implementation has also been set up and is playing a crucial role in finalising the plans, accelerating implementation and facilitating engagement with and leadership by the Palestinian private sector.
