Palestinian Economic Bulletin

Bulletin Special - January 2017

Social impact investments, known as impact investments for short, are those that intentionally target specific social objectives along with a financial return and measure the achievement of both. Impact investments can have the greatest impact when funding is linked to outcomes through mechanisms such Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) and Development Impact Bonds (DIBs).

In the light of significant global momentum, our February 2016 Bulletin Special took an in-depth look at how an impact investment market could work in Palestine and the opportunities that it could create. This month’s Bulletin Special builds on our February report by exploring how SIBs and DIBs have been used around the world and sets out how they could be applied in Palestine.
